Last November, Jack Yantis was enjoying an evening with his family at
his ranch in Idaho, when he got a call saying that one of his bulls had
been hit by a car. When he arrived on the scene, two Adams County
Deputies were already there. An altercation ensued between the deputies
and Yantis, because he aimed his rifle at the bull to put him down, but
wasn’t pointing the gun in a safe direction. When one of the deputies
tried to stop him, Yantis attempted to strick him with the rifle, so
both deputies shot him dead.
His family however, had a different version of those events. They say
that the police tried to put the bull down themselves and failed
miserably, leaving the poor animal dying in the road. When Yantis
pointed his rifle at the animal, one of the deputies grabbed him, swung
him around, and tried to take the rifle from him. That’s when both
deputies shot him (and those aren’t the only damning details that put the deputies in a bad light). All of the witnesses agree that the shooting was completely unjustified.

Charlotte, NC — A community and family is mourning the loss of Daniel
Kevin Harris, whose life was taken this week by a State Trooper who
apparently fears sign language. Harris, who is deaf, was gunned down in
front of his house.
According to police, trooper Jermaine Saunders attempted to pull
Harris over around 6:14 p.m. on Thursday. For an unknown reason, Harris
did not stop and, instead, drove to his home.
During the pursuit, both cars became damaged and eventually came to a stop near Harris’ home.
“I was here in my driveway and I saw the highway patrol car come
through and it was smoking really bad,” said neighbor Mark Barringer.
“About 10 seconds later, I heard one gunshot.”
According to WCNC,
Barringer says when he went to take a closer look, he saw Harris in the
middle of the street. He died just a few feet from his front door.
Several neighbors have put flowers near where Harris took his final
“It was surreal, you just don’t expect to see something like that,” said Barringer. “When the gunshot went off, it was scary.”

Pele Smith has now filed a lawsuit against four officers of the
Lorain Police Department in Ohio after being brutalized by an officer
during a September 2014 arrest. While handcuffed, Officer Zachary
Ferenec, is seen on dash cam footage throwing Smith’s face into the
windshield while handcuffed, leaving the window shattered.
Lorain Police Captain Roger Watkins attempted to justify Ferenec’s
actions by saying that slamming Smith’s face into the windshield was not
intentional. “I know it doesn’t look good,” Captain Watkins said. “But
our intention wasn’t for him to hit the windshield.”

A former deputy of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department was
caught speeding on Interstate 77 north, but he was given no ticket after
showing the officer his likely inauthentic badge.
This should outrage anybody who has been given a speeding ticket. It
is quite apparent that the laws do not apply to those who attempt to
apply them to us every day.

A Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy has been fired after brutalizing a
man in response to a domestic dispute, and he may face criminal charges
for excessive use of force.
According to Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas, Scott Thorne used
excessive force in a situation in which there was absolutely no need for
force to be used, and that is why he is no longer employed by the
Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
“In this situation, the force was not reasonable because he was not
authorized to use force. There was no crime; there was no threat. And
so, no force should have been used at all,” said Sheriff Freitas.

annihilating law enforcement claims writing tickets and arresting
people are matters of public safety, a Florida police department has
been caught red-handed holding a contest offering a “reward” to the officer who generated the most citations and arrests.
Last month, as an internal memo obtained by Channel 9
revealed, the Winter Springs Police Department held this reward-based
citation-production contest, likely to generate a bit of extra revenue
by commandeering people as often as possible through legal state
Winter Springs police insisted in a statement to Channel 9 the memorandum was “meant to promote teamwork and camaraderie,” and should not be equated with any sort of “quota” system.
As Channel 9 reported, “More than 100 citations,

Social Circle, GA — A cop has been fired and is already appealing
after his dashcam showed him challenging a 17-year-old boy to a fight
while threatening and cursing at him. The Free Thought Project has also
learned that this same cop threatened school officials, saying he would
give them anthrax and ‘blow up’ the building.
On November 23, Social Circle Police Officer James Sanders was
conducting a traffic stop when a black jeep, driven by the 17-year-old
boy, passed him and admittedly yelled, ‘F**k the police.” Sanders
immediately halted the stop to pursue the jeep.
Sanders had absolutely zero probable cause for the stop. However, he
tried to claim that the jeep crossed a white line, but, as the dashcam
shows, that was only after Sanders sped up behind the teen’s car.
