Police say Ramirez broke into Pharis’s home on July 24, raped her and
beat her with a claw hammer, leaving her for dead before trying to break into another home.
Ramirez pled not guilty on Friday to charges of “attempted murder,
first-degree burglary with person present, assault with intent to commit
rape, sexual penetration by foreign object and resisting a peace
officer,” according to HNGN.
He also faces special allegations: “the use of a deadly weapon in a sex
offense, causing great bodily injury in a sex offense, assault with a
deadly weapon on an elderly person and a violent crime against a
vulnerable victim,” according to the Santa Maria Times.
Pharis died eight days later. Ramirez may face additional charges for murder after an autopsy is conducted.
Police say they “don’t care” that Ramirez is an illegal alien, who
rather than being detained and deported, was free to rampage through the
“We have a citizen that lost her life, it’s serious, when you look at
it, we don’t care what the circumstances were, we’re going to do what
we need to do to get our facts and bring this individual to justice. If
there are extenuating circumstances that arise as a result of that, that
he’s an undocumented immigrant, then we will let the proper authorities
address those issues when they present themselves,” Santa Maria Police
Department Commander Kendall Greene said.
Had he been deported, of course, Pharis would still be alive. Santa
Maria police arrested Ramirez four times in the past two years, most
recently in May 2014. He was on probation when he allegedly raped and
beat Pharis in the dead of night.

When the Gun-Free School Zone Act was signed into law in 1990, it
effectively created mini constitution free zones within 1000 feet of
every public, private, or parochial school. While exceptions are made
for firearms on private property, the law basically makes it illegal to
defend yourself or others with a firearm on public property within the
arbitrary school zones, unless sanctioned to do so by the state, or the
More recently, after New Orleans saw a recent “rise in gun activity,”
US Attorney Kenneth Polite decided that he should conduct a community
outreach program alongside local and federal police agencies, to
reinforce these rules. They’ve been going door-to-door in neighborhoods
that fall within school zones, to remind residents that they basically have no self-defense rights on public property where they live. Check out the nauseating propaganda piece that the local news produced on behalf of the program.

A few examples ---
1. In Chicago earlier this year,
an Uber driver with a concealed-carry permit “shot and wounded a gunman
[Everardo Custodio] who opened fire on a crowd of people.”
2. In a Philadelphia barber shop earlier this year,
Warren Edwards “opened fire on customers and barbers” after an
argument. Another man with a concealed-carry permit then shot the
shooter; of course it’s impossible to tell whether the shooter would
have kept killing if he hadn’t been stopped, but a police captain was
quoted as saying that, “I guess he [the man who shot the shooter] saved a
lot of people in there.”
3. In a hospital near Philadelphia, in 2014,
Richard Plotts shot and killed the psychiatric caseworker with whom we
was meeting, and shot and wounded his psychiatrist, Lee Silverman.
Silverman shot back, and took down Plotts. While again it’s not certain
whether Plotts would have killed other people, Delaware County D.A. Jack
that, “If the doctor did not have a firearm, (and) the doctor did not
utilize the firearm, he’d be dead today, and I believe that other people
in that facility would also be dead”; Yeadon Police Chief Donald Molineux
similar said that he “believe[d] the doctor saved lives.” Plotts was
still carrying 39 unspent rounds when he was arrested. [UPDATE: I added
this item since the original post.]
4. In Plymouth, Pa., in 2012,
William Allabaugh killed one man and wounded another following an
argument over Allabaugh being ejected from a bar. Allabaugh then
approached a bar manager and Mark Ktytor and reportedly pointed his gun
at them; Ktytor, who had a concealed-carry license,
then shot Allabaugh. “The video footage and the evidence reveals that
Mr. Allabaugh had turned around and was reapproaching the bar. Mr.
[Ktytor] then acted, taking him down. We believe that it could have been
much worse that night,” Luzerne County A.D.A. Jarrett Ferentino said.
5. Near Spartanburg, S.C., in 2012, Jesse Gates went to his church armed with a shotgun and kicked in a door. But Aaron Guyton,
who had a concealed-carry license, drew his gun and pointed it at
Gates, and other parishioners then disarmed Gates. Note that in this
instance, unlike the others, it’s possible that the criminal wasn’t
planning on killing anyone, but just brought the shotgun to church and
kicked in the door to draw attention to himself or vent his frustration.
6. In Winnemucca, Nev., in 2008,
Ernesto Villagomez killed two people and wounded two others in a bar
filled with 300 people. He was then shot and killed by a patron who was
carrying a gun (and had a concealed-carry license). It’s not clear
whether Villagomez would have killed more people; the killings were
apparently the result of a family feud, and I could see no information
on whether Villagomez had more names on his list, nor could one tell
whether he would have killed more people in trying to evade capture.
7. In Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2007,
Matthew Murray killed four people at a church. He was then shot several
times by Jeanne Assam, a church member, volunteer security guard and
former police officer (she had been dismissed by a police department 10
years before, and to my knowledge hadn’t worked as a police officer
since). Murray, knocked down and badly wounded, killed himself; it is
again not clear whether he would have killed more people had he not been
wounded, but my guess is that he would have (UPDATE: he apparently went
to the church with more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition).
8. In Edinboro, Pa., in 1998,
14-year-old Andrew Wurst shot and killed a teacher at a school dance,
and shot and injured several other students. He had just left the dance
hall, carrying his gun — possibly to attack more people, though the
stories that I’ve seen are unclear — when he was confronted by the dance
hall owner James Strand, who lived next door and kept a shotgun at
home. It’s not clear whether Wurst was planning to kill others, would
have gotten into a gun battle with the police, or would have otherwise
killed more people had Strand not stopped him.
9. In Pearl, Miss., in 1997,
16-year-old Luke Woodham stabbed and bludgeoned to death his mother at
home, then killed two students and injured seven at his high school. As
he was leaving the school, he was stopped by Assistant Principal Joel
Myrick, who had gone out to get a handgun from his car. I have seen
sources that state that Woodham was on the way to Pearl Junior High School to continue shooting, though I couldn’t find any contemporaneous news articles that so state.

We can’t always predict when an attack is about to happen. There
might be no indications in your immediate surroundings to alert yourself
to the fact that something is going down. You may be blithely unaware
until the moment that a bomb goes off or a gun gets fired.
If you find yourself suddenly in the midst of an act of terrorism, your actions should be one of the following:
1) Escape. Get as far
away from the threat as possible. This is where your early observant
behavior comes in handy, because you’ll already know the escape routes.
If you are in charge of vulnerable individuals like children, your first
choice of actions should be to get them to safety if at all possible.
2) Take cover. If you
can’t get away, get behind something solid and wait for your opportunity
to either escape or fight back. This is something else you may have
observed when doing your earlier reconnaissance.
3) Take out the threat. If you are armed (and I really hope you are) and/or trained, use your abilities to help remove the threat.
The most important thing to consider here is not necessarily which
action you will take. It’s that you will take an action, not just stand
there in shock. You can be a victim or you can be a warrior.
In Paris, unarmed hostages were at the mercy of their captors. One
hundred people were kept in line by just a few men with guns. Keep in
mind that fighting back doesn’t always mean a fancy Krav Maga move that
takes down two armed men with one trick maneuver. There are many ways to
fight back, and not all of them require physical prowess. Don’t let
fear incapacitate you. Your brain is a weapon too.

The horrifying thing about this murder is the fact that the man accused
of the murders befriended his victims first. William Hudson, 33, helped a
blended family when their vehicle got stuck. The victims were all shot
100 miles southeast of Dallas, Texas, Anderson County Sheriff Greg
Taylor said in a release. Williams is being charged in the murder of all
six of the family members with additional charges pending an
Tom Kamp had invited Nathan and Austin from California, where they
lived with their mother and Kamp’s two other sons, to celebrate Nathan’s
upcoming 24th birthday and to see the property where they were camping,
which Kamp bought in August, Kamp’s uncle Steven Woodruff explained.
Hannah’s mother Cindy was the lone survivor, and she’s still in dire condition.
Let’s all imagine a scenario where Cindy Johnson had been armed. She
is our lone survivor and was hurt badly. Matching deadly force with
deadly force would have, at a bare minimum, made this mass homicide a
lot less deadly. What if all the family members had been armed? As a
mother, I’m willing to bet Cindy and her daughter Hannah would have
fired a gun to save the lives of their children.

INDIANAPOLIS (WGHP) — In a tragic new development, police told WTHR Friday that the pregnant daughter-in-law of a North Carolina pastor, who was murdered in Indiana, was also sexually assaulted.
Police are still following several leads in the murder of 28-year-old
Amanda Blackburn, who died after being shot in the head by a gunman.
One of the people who was interrogated by police on Thursday, Jalen Watson, 21, was taken into custody for a parole violation.
"Our detectives believe this was a robbery likely to have gone foul," said Indianapolis Metro Police Sgt. Kendale Adams.

Times-Picayune reports that 32-year-old Joseph “Moe” Allen was arrested
on Sunday in relation to the incident, and he’s been charged with 17
counts of attempted first-degree murder. You would think that with the
number of victims, the youngest being 10, and the majority of whom were
under 21, and the heartless nature of the incident, the media would be
all over it, but you would think wrong.

Now do you see why this one has been overlooked? Heavily reporting
this story would mean having to admit that more gun control wouldn’t be
effective, and it would also mean having to bring attention to the
problem with systemic violence in the black community. Plus, reporting
it would highlight the dangers of letting violent criminals back on the
streets after shortening their prison terms, none of which the liberal
media would willingly do, especially when there’s a juicy story about a
white man a couple of states over.
At the heart of the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting is a crazed
white male, and every effort has been made by the media to convince
people he’s a Christian conservative. They’re even going as far as to
report hearsay from anonymous sources as fact and completely glossing
over the fact that police have refused to release the shooter’s motives
and the weapon he was using, which means anything reported thus far is
purely speculation. However, that speculation is being fueled by the
left-wing media machine to push for more gun control and paint the
Christian right in a bad light, even though none of us would ever
condone violence to make a point.
Here, we have two stories portraying two different narratives, but
one is based on fact rather than speculation. It’s really no surprise
which one the media chose, but it does show how irresponsible their
reporting has become, and it demonstrates how eager they are to jump on
the anti-Christian, anti-white, and anti-conservative bandwagon to do
everything they can to make us look bad.
